Late one night in March 2008, I sat down at my computer, scratched my head, and kept scratching. What I pulled out was a louse. My daughter was asleep as she had surgery to repair a broken leg the next day and upon looking at her hair with a flashlight, I found lice in her hair. My son who was sleeping at a friend's house was found covered in it. My naïveté came to a screeching halt! I did like you and ran out and got RID. I did the treatment. We still had it. Then I found the hotline and knew I was not alone. I have spent the time since then working on the hotline answering calls at all hours, going on house calls, speaking at schools, working with camps, and doing all that I can to help talk anyone I can out of the trees. I am not an RN. I don't have a PhD, but I do feel given all I know that I have a degree in lice. Just know that no matter what time it is, you can ring me and I will do all I can to help.
